Mouseland article

This is the first page from an article in Art Doll Quarterly, Spring 2012, in which I talk about the development and construction of the mice, my evolution as an artist, and creating "The House That Mouse Built". I'll post a link to the whole article as soon as it's available.

  7. Your art is incredible. I am in love. I made some wedding mice from a Brambly Hedge pattern book (I posted some pics on my blog). I so enjoyed the process and can appreciate all your work. I design fabric also, and if you ever need tiny fabric prints for the mice, I am able to scale the designs smaller. Most of my designs are set up larger for ease of viewing.
Anyway................back to looking at your amazing vignettes!

  8. I bet you have so many things in your mind, that you have trouble sleeping, for wanting to be creating a new vignette. SO wonderful!

  11. Hi Maggie, I love your mice, I ordered your book a couple of months back. I live in Holland and was surprised to find an old Dutch stamp in the night interior of the book the house that mouse built. You are so inventive and creative, and your mice bring a smile to my face everytime I look at them. They are too cute!
You mention that you will post a link to the full article as soon as it is available. Is it available yet? I am soo curious!
Keep on the good work and keep on making people dream and smile...
    Looking forward to the link!
    Warmest regards from Bianca

  12. Hi Bianca,
Thanks so much for your nice comment, and I'm glad you spotted the Dutch stamp..I've had it since I was a little girl, until I found a purpose for it: mouse decoration!
I just heard from the editor of Art Doll Quarterly that the article should be available soon...I'll let you know when it's out.
    Best wishes, Maggie

  14. Thank you so much Maggie! I too have lots of "junk" I have collected since childhood. Since I have been infected with the mouse virus I am collecting even more... Nowadays I can see lots of uses in things other people throw away, like special colored paper or a piece of cloth, a seedpod... hehe! It's infectious! Nice to see such long treasured items bring the mouse interior to life. You are an inspiration!
